Intellectual Property, which covers patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and unfair competition, is also referred to as "intangible property."  Either way, any product of the human mind or intellect...such as an idea, invention, expression, unique name, business method, industrial process, or chemical formula with some value in the market place that can be reduced to a tangible form.

Therefore Intellectual Property Law, also known as IP Law, determines when and how a person can capitalize on a creation.
