Patent Law, under the umbrella of Intellectual Property Law, deals with the protection of the mental concepts or creations known as inventions.  There are three types of patents: 1) Utility or a Valid Patent;   2) Design Patent; and a  3) Plant Patent.

Note: Available to inventors that will need to file a Utility Patent is a temporary or conditional filing known as a Provisional Patent, which is good for one year.
